ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Welcome back Bill B.!!!

SPEAKER(S):
Today we presented two scholarships to two deserving seniors living in the Town of Wallkill.  Walter, Vocational Chair, gave some information about our scholarships.  First off, Walter thanked Crystal Run Healthcare and Ball Corp. for their monetary contributions that make these scholarships possible.  The two scholarships are awarded to seniors in high school living in the Town of Wallkill.  Crystal Run Healthcare's scholarship is given to someone planning to study health sciences in college.  It is our hope that we can grow our scholarship fund at the Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan Counties enough that we can give out more scholarships each year.  There is about $47,000 in that account right now and we need about $100,000 to have the fund sustain itself.  Melanie Rivera was the recipient of the Crystal Run Healthcare scholarship.  She is a Middletown High School honor graduate and plans to study pharmacy at Wilkes University in the fall.  She is involved in a number of different groups at Middletown High School including National Honor Society, Key Club, and three varsity sports.  Ashlyn Krezak is the recipient of the Ball Corp. scholarship.  She plans to study childhood education at Siena College in the fall.  She is also very involved in things such as National Honor Society, the Drama Club, Interact, and the tennis team.  Congratulations to both young women and good luck next year!  Thank you to Walter and his scholarship committee for their work on this!
