ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Bill F. and Lauren recapped the RI UN Day last Saturday. While it was a day full of all kinds of information, it was not exactly what the group was expecting. (i.e. no tour of the UN.)
Suzanne reminded everyone that we are still collecting coats and non-perishable food for the Holiday Coat & Food Drive. Items will be collected until November 17th. Feel free to bring items to our meeting next week.
The 'Flock a Friend' fundraiser is going well! The flamingos have been moving from yard to yard each night and we have many more flockings scheduled! Let Lauren know if you are interested in helping with flockings. We will run this fundraiser through the end of November, possible into the 1st week of December.
Mike shared that pancake breakfast planning is coming along. The event will be on Sunday, January 29th from 8am-12pm at Pine Bush High School. We will be selling placemat ads again as well as pre-selling tickets. Tickets will be $5 for seniors and students and $6 for adults. Children under 5 will be free.
SPEAKER(S):
Greg Jaloszynski spoke about the many programs that 12th Rock Sports has going on. They run quality sports programs that provide an equal playing field for all participants. Their sports programs are run out of Circleville Chuch as well as locations in Walden, Goshen, and other Circleville locations. They also run "roaming clinics," where they travel to locations such as Baltimore, Ottawa Canada, and Cleveland, to help other groups get their own sports programs up and running. 12th Rock is also collecting money ('Dirty Water Project'- hand out water bottles. you drink the water, fill the bottle with change, and send it back) to go to Ghana next year and install an irrigation system as well as running a hats & mittens drive.
